The First Snow of Winter...

We awoke to a white world.  Everything in the garden had a covering of snow...

The other three cats stayed warm and cosy inside, but Charlie ventured out.  He wasn't at all sure about it at first...

but soon found his feet...

We decided to go to Sutton Cheney Wharf to get some wintry pictures (it's right next door to Bosworth Battle Field where Richard III lost his crown and gave Shakespeare a great idea for a play)...

It was beautiful, but bitterly cold and we were frozen, so we retreated to the warmth of Starbucks on the way home and tried to thaw out... (didn't stop me taking photos though :O))

Thank you both. Btw Charlie is a very big cat, I should know, I've tried to wrestle him into a cat carrier before :O)))

Gorgeous photos, Barbara. I love the one of the canal boats, but can't resist the one of Charlie.

It looks very wintry there! great photos! The canal boats look cozy and inviting. And Charlie looks like a very close relative of my Louie...a big round tuxedo kitty!

Winter has arrived - and those frozen-in river boats really showed it.

I love the paw prints in the snow. We haven't had snow . . . yet!

Lovely photos (and Charlie is gorgeous!), but you've had SO much less snow than we have! We're pretty much snowed in here and when the pets go out, the snow is too deep for them!

A little snow goes a long way to making a wintry brown world look clean. :) Love how the cat looks so tentative about the snow...and then steps right in. :)

We had a little more snow last night but not much. David keeps hoping we'll get snowed in so he doesn't have to go to work! Anytime after tomorrow night would be ok with me (after we've been to Stratford) :O)
