Although the photo is beautiful it doesn't inspire me to climb in this thing and turn around !

How fun and festive! I love the colors of the ferris wheel against that beautiful blue sky! (Don't picture skies that blue in jolly old England!)

Laloofah: Are you insinuating that we get a lot of bad weather in England?!? I sniff in your direction! We've all been praying it would rain this week as it was so warm and close, and boy did it rain yesterday - I was shouting 'hurrah!' and using my edwardian parasol umbrella with aplomb! (There's a word that doesn't get used enough) :O)

Gattina: I'm with you - no WAY would I get on something like this...

Oh, THIS is why I was accused on a different post of insulting your weather! Well, yes. Guilty as charged, I was insinuating with aplomb. ;-) Your rep over there, deserved or not, is of gray skies, fog, drizzle and rain most of the time. And during recent winters, a good bit of snow as well!

However, I'm glad to hear you got sunshine and blue skies for picture taking, followed by the gullywasher rain you were hoping for. We got rain yesterday too, accompanied by what had to have been 100mph wind (I'm not kidding!) Wyoming must be tired of being upstaged by other states' hurricanes and tornados on the Weather Channel. I would not have fared well with an Edwardian parasol in that, aplomb or no aplomb!

Anyway, sorry to have offended, just trying to work the weather into another conversation, and now to make it up to you am trying to work "aplomb" into the conversation as frequently as possible too. (Here's a tip: while I agree that it's a word that doesn't get enough use, do NOT use it while in an airport or on a plane, as in, "Look at me, I'm boarding this plane with aplomb!" :-)
