Macro Friday, Camera Critters, and Cat News...

Ladybird...

It's been a busy week and I've hardly had time to pick up my camera.  Work is still manic, and then there was  a Doctor's appointment to have my blood pressure taken (ha!) plus a visit to the vet for Posky.  It turns out that what I'd suspected is true, and he has Chronic Renal Failure the same as Mrs Pod - ah well, they're both getting on now (although they'd kill me if they knew I'd written that), so it's not that surprising.  We've had Posky 15 years so he must be about 16, and Mrs P is perhaps 14 or older (they're both rescue cats so it's rather hard to say).  The vet asked me if I could get a urine sample from Posky this weekend (!), but we then decided it would be easier if he goes and spends a few hours with them on Monday and for them to try and get it.  I'm pretty sure he will have to go on the same medication as Mrs P.  All the cats like the specialist Renal cat food, although they tend to lick the gravy from it and leave the lumps - hey ho.

Poor Posky! He and Mrs Pod can share the special food.
I take it your blood pressure is fine?

The cats blood pressure is a lot lower than mine at the moment :O) It did come down a bit when we got a cheque from Mrs P's insurers today to cover the treatment for her ears - phew. My bp always rockets when I go to the Doctors - I have to take my own readings from home for him. I'd just been watching George Osborne on the news when I went in - that didn't help :O)

Oh, I know how this goes. We have 3 dogs, all within a year of each other age-wise, all showing symptoms of aging. It is hard, but you hope and pray for the best for them.

This is a beautiful photograph!! Such a wonderful bright cheery color!

It's a shame the two cats both have kidney disease. As you say, though, they are getting old (sorry guys) and, like people, they have physical problems with age. Good thing you have insurance for them.

SO sorry to hear about Posky. :( Yes, that IS the problem when you have animals of similar ages. I hope the medication helps. Good that they like the taste!

I LOVE the photo. I want to take pics like that!
