A week in which Mrs P ended up at the vets again on Friday under general anaesthetic (after being there on Monday for an antibiotic jab for her ears). They cleaned her ears out and x-rayed her head to see where the infection was (behind the eardrum). There was talk of her having an underlying allergy of some kind which keeps causing the ear infections, so I'm trying her on hypoallergenic food. We shall see. Anyway, here she is looking sad... note the shaved paw.

Charlie was busy too. It seemed to involve a lot of sprawling on our bed.

I'm going to pray she feels better soon. I know how stressful it can be to go to the vet so often for some of our senior cats. I hope the diet works, too. Love your photos. Your cats are so photogenic with your talent behind the camera. Gorgeous.

Poor Mrs. P! Funny, every time she's had to battle one of these relentless ear infections I've thought, if she were a dairy-eating human, I'd be saying give up the dairy - it's definitely linked to ear infections. Does she drink cow's milk? I hope the food change does the trick, that's a lot for you guys to keep having to go through.
Willow's shaved area from her surgery in early December still hasn't grown all the way back - partly because she licked it so much till we wrapped it in an ace bandage for a few weeks to make her stop!
I think Pepper is hiding in plain sight, hoping no one notices her and decides to haul her fuzzy butt to the vet!! :-) Really sweet photos!
And I'm sure Charlie has told you what hard, grueling work it is to sprawl effectively.

Thanks Laurie - none of the cats are given milk. It's not really recommended for cats, however a lot of commercial cat foods have wheat, dairy, and god knows what else in. A nice lady at a pet food supplies place gave me some samples of hypoallergenic cat food today to let the Podster try - she seemed to like the salmon!
Poor Willow - hope she's ok...
Willow's fine, now that her hair is growing back in! The vet said her skin was very sensitive to the razor, and immediately got really irritated. I imagine that's why she was licking it, but she was only making it worse. So I'd put some aloe from my plant on it every day, and then cover it with a cotton gauze pad and wrap it in an elastic bandage... seemed to do the trick after a couple of weeks. I guess Willow's skin goes along with her collie personality - very sensitive! :-)
I'm glad Mrs Pod likes one of the new food flavors, that should make life easier!

Hope Mrs. P is feeling better soon. Charlie is a beautiful boy. I've taken a liking to him. We have a kitty named Stanley Oliver, whom I rescued from the neighborhood as a baby ferral kitten. Funniest cat ever!
That's a great name for a cat! Charlie's army of admirers seems to grow by the day :O)
