Cats on Tuesday... Christmas Photo Shoot

Yes it's that time of year when I bravely get my camera, some props and a cat or two in the same space and attempt to take a photo for a Christmas card.  For various reasons this year it was left to my two lady cats to do the honours.  I got the lights ready (alright, I tried to get the lights ready, swore at them, yelled for David, he tried it, I swore at him, he flounced out, and then we were ready...).

The hi-tech set consisted of two pieces of white card, a furry rug, some gold tinsel, and a few baubles.

Pepper helped me arrange the set,
then ate the cat treats I'd hidden under
the tinsel and ran away.

Mrs P was more amiable,
but even she couldn't resist pulling a scary face...

She did agree to pose
nicely after being told she wouldn't
be in CoT if she didn't...

This is the set-up we used.
Note how hard it is to
get a cat to stay awake
to do some work...

Did I manage to get a usable image in the end?  Yes, 148 shots later.  However you'll have to wait until the festive season to see it :O))

And so that fans of Charlie won't feel too bereft, here he is sitting with some pumpkins on Halloween, which is much more his style really.

Oh my, what fun! I like the one with Mrs. P voicing her opinion with her ears back. I think I would have used that one--it's so funny it made me laugh out loud!

146 pics later, wow! You must be very hard to please, poor kitties!

I think the second photo would make a superb card:-)
I'm pleased to note that other people swear at each other and flounce out - it's so easy to believe that everyone else is amiable and well-behaved all the time;-)

I love the first photo. I know how hard it is to get these little characters to pose. It won't happen. So, I just wait for the moment. I did get one good one of Lily for a card cover a few years back that is on my side-bar. She was asleep. hahaha!
I can't wait to see the end result. Love your photos...they are wonderful.

I will use the Christmas pictures from last year, because last year I used the once from the year before etc. Your models did a beautiful job, except looking like the Metro Goldwyn Mayer lion on a Christmas card is not so peaceful, lol !

The hissing shot is a riot. I can see a hilarious Christmas card and caption with that one!

For the first time in ages, I felt well enough to read your blog this morning and I'm giggling already. Can't wait to see the shot you chose after all your hard work. No wonder the cats fall asleep while you fuss. lol

Mrs. P can say, "Bah, HUMBUG!" with more feeling than Scrooge himself! ROTFL! And leave it to Pepper to be helpful. I know it was exhausting (and very involved!), but you got some great shots, and I'm sure these are mostly the "outtakes!" :-)

I love that photo of Charlie (as well as the "apparition" outtake of this one!). A Halloween setting is definitely his milieu.

Cute photos, a lovely idea to do your own Christmas cards.

Barbara - am so pleased you felt well enough to drop by. Do hope you're ok, I've been thinking about you a lot.

Karen - I am a slave-driver aren't I? :O)

Gattina - LOL! Mrs P will get ideas above her station if I tell her what you said about her.

Jabblog - Flouncing and yelling occur quite frequently here!

Deb - the 'chance' photos are usually the best. Unfortunately the 25th Dec fast approaches so I had to try and force the cats into action!

Sharon and LindyLou - thank you :O)

Laurie - I might have to try another shoot yet, Charlie has not yet been humiliated with Christmas decorations (if only I had a snow machine) :O)

Pepper and Mrs. P look so cute amongst the tinsel.

Charlie looks ominous... just the way he likes it.

You are obvious an excellent judge of character William :O)
