Cats on Tuesday...

Well another week of drama, deviousness, and temper tantrums... but enough about David, let's talk about the cats.  My boy Posky ended up on an intravenous drip back in cat hospital again; he went in on Tuesday and came out on Friday morning.  He impressed everyone with his charm and laid-back qualities, and they all said what a lovely boy he was.  Even his other vet Linda (who is based at a different vets where he goes for his acupuncture) phoned to wish him well and show moral support.

I now have to give him subcutaneous fluids every two days which involves 100ml of saline solution being dripped into his scruff.  I did it for the first time yesterday morning and it did seem to help - he definitely ate more.  Poor boy, he now has to have a fortekor tablet, a tiny tablet to stop stomach acid, some horrid paste which he despises which is to stop the absorption of phosphorus from his food, and a potassium supplement every day.  The paste is supposed to be highly palatable to cats - HA!  We all know what it means when anything has THAT in its description.

Elsewhere, Charlie's insulin dose has been lowered again - now he has 2 units twice a day.  That's great considering he was on 4!  We have to do some more glucose measurements this weekend just to check what it's doing.  Charlie also decided that cobwebs were in vogue this season, so I'll leave you with some pics of him modelling a few.  I think he's even got a dead spider in there...

Our first cat, Mr. Moe, seemed to be attracted to cobwebs. He was white and black like yours too--maybe it's a common characteristic of this kind of cat?

I hope that Posky and Charlie continue to see improvement in the health department, and that David finally starts to see improvement in the behavior department! ;-) (When I read the first part of your first sentence, my brain completed the sentence with "but enough about work!" I kid you not. Great minds think alike, but not so alike they bore each other. LOL)

Only Charlie could turn grody cobwebs into a fashion statement. And a rather Goth one, don't you think? (A little late for Halloween, but really, are cobwebs in the whiskers ever out of style?)

Sending lots and lots of purrs to Posky and Charlie, and hugs to your mom. Our human has gone through it and knows the feeling.
We love Charlie's unconcerned cobwebs look. :)

These are great photos, Barb. Love the last one. I hope things improve for your cats health-wise. I know how hard it is to have cats with health issues as the bond grows. Lots of hugs, Deb

Poor you, with two sweeties to take care of ! Must be quiet difficult. Some cats are awful when it comes to take a pill ! Rosie is one of those. Arthur swallows everything as long as it is wrapped in minced meat ! The pictures are adorable.

Charlie seems to be thinking in these pictures, "What a revolting development..."
