Cats on Tuesday...

Another guest appearance this week.  Some of you may have seen my shot of the little ginger cat (to be known hereafter, some would say somewhat unimaginatively, as 'Ginger') facing down the cyclist in Scavenger Hunt Sunday.  He lives in a cottage near Shakespeare's birthplace and has often been seen in his front window next to an empty cake stand (from which I leave you to draw your own conclusions).  I've met him in the street before too, once when he tried to grab my hand, and once when he darted out and tried to attack David's ankles.  Impressed by his devil-may-care attitude, we thought he deserved a little more publicity, so here are a few shots of Ginger showing what he can do (and also showing his bum).

For those of you who have never been to Stratford upon Avon and are thinking what a quiet, peaceful town it looks, THIS IS NOT HOW IT USUALLY LOOKS! These were taken early on a Sunday morning before the tourists had descended.  It's normally thronged with them, but both Ginger and myself disappeared before that happened.

And before fans of Charlie start hyperventilating at the thought of not seeing him this week, here's the boy himself.  Not to be outdone by any Warwickshire upstart, he appears to be striking a Shakespearean 'Ah death, where is they sting?' pose.

Ginger obviously keeps himself busy, is he trying to discourage tourism in HIS territory? I wrote a poem about a ginger cat who was press-ganged on board a ship, his name was Orlando.

Gosh, I hope Charlie is just pretending!

That is probably the pose Rappy will be taking, he has exhausted himself, after catching a mouse and bringing it home, he let it go, and was searching for it in the nooks and crannies of my bedroom....!

He looks well fed ! that's what I always notice first. He lives in a nice area and he is right to chase tourists away, lol ! (not me of course if ever I would visit your town !)

Ginger obviously has about six cats' worth of attitude--or cattitude, I should say.

Alas, if I visited, I would be just another gawking, annoying tourist. :-P

Darn, I missed Ginger when I was among the thronging hordes in Stratford. An empty cake stand and a well-fed cat? Hmmmmm. I agree, Charlie is a real ham, so dramatic.

Fuzzy Tales - Stick your tongue out at me and run away would ya! I never said that tourists were annoying (as I live about 40 mins from Stratford I count myself as a local tourist :O)), just to expect there to be a lot of them if you go there. And if you want a parking space get there early!

Ginger is probably one of the town's most photographed people. He looks so furry confident as he marches about. never been to Shakespeare's home but would love to go and see it one day.

I'd so love to be able to visit Statford and the jaunt would be enhanced by meeting Ginger (oh, and you, of course...) He's the type of chap I like!

Speaking of which, isn't Charlie's right hand adorable?
