Cats on Tuesday...

We apologise for the lack of communication, I've just been busy, busy, busy, not least with taking certain cats back and forth to the Vets.  A quick update then: Posky's urinary tract infection has cleared up, but now Mrs P has an ear infection again plus a sneezy thing going on which she has antibiotics for.  Of course she vomited and stunk the car out on the journey there and back, plus had an angry at the Vet when she got there.  Talking of angry... Charlie went for his second glucose curve and was apparently not a happy cat.  They'd written on his notes on the computer, 'Charlie is VERY grumpy today.  Take care!'.  He was of course as good as gold as soon as I got there and told me it was ALL LIES, and HE HADN'T DONE A THING!  Anyway, the Vet has asked if we'd like to do the glucose curve ourselves at home next time... so this time next week I could be typing this with both hands bandaged.
Almost forgot - Charlie is very proud that he's taking part in a study about diabetic cats for the Royal Veterinary College.  They now have some of his blood to do all kinds of tests on including genetic testing.  As you may have seen they've recently found what they think may be the skeleton of Richard III in Leicester not far from us, and Charlie is hoping they'll discover he's a long lost relative :O)

Posky demonstrates how his recovery from infection
means he can now sense the very centre of a rug to lie on...

Mrs P demonstrates her Vet 'stare down' look...

And Charlie says;
'and this is my possessed-screaming-cat look
for use on vet nurses...

...and this is my happy face'

Meanwhile Pepper just thinks they're all weird and
in serious need of meditation as well as medication...

OMG ! that's almost a hospital in your house ! Charlie was better than Arthur ! Arthur got mad impossible to get him out of the cage, I didn't recognize him ! The vet had to give him a shot to be able to do the examination ! He had never been like that, but since he almost lost his tail, he must have a bad memory of the vet ! and she is such a sweet lady !
Maybe you should put on garden gloves when treating Charlie !

whew boy, that's a lot of vetting!
I have to give fluid (and anti-nausea pills) to my cat Earnest because he has kidney failure. He does like the vet though. It's a fun room to explore and extra attention from new people is great!
The center of a rug is a very special place to be!

Gattina - bad memories of the vet is the problem that Pod has too, hers was a very painful ear infection. Poor Arthur - glad to see his tail didn't have any long-lasting damage!

Tezzie - thanks! :O)

Kathy - at the moment I am very glad the cats are insured...!

The Desert Rocks - doesn't he just. He also has to work on his anger management...

Splendid Little Stars - ah your poor kitty. Do hope he's feeling ok at the moment. Posky has CRF too and has to take a blood pressure tablet, a potassium supplement, and something that looks like liquid foundation (and tastes like it by the expression on his face) to stop the absorption of something or other from his food. He's sulking behind the curtain at the moment because I combed him before he had his breakfast...

Hi Luna (waves), so glad we found you on Facebook! Poor you having your safe haven dismantled around you... we have actually had to pick the carrier up and shake Mrs P out before - she was like a limpet! And hugs back to your Mum x

I can't not leave a comment after reading that. Lovely cats - I have four too but hate the vet as every visit results in a substantial bill... Why do we let them get away with their iniquitous charges?
