I so much regret the square hay cubes ! what fun I had when I was a child and we built houses with that and jumped on them ! With rolls it's impossible ! And now you only see rolls everywhere in Europe. But the smell is still there !

One of the wonderful colours of the year. Great combination of sky and sunlit field.

Ha, I did haybales for last year's H week post! Happenstance? Or another happy mindmeld? :-) Your photo is another golden beauty. I'm beginning to think that England is gilded!

Lovely H post. Quite a treat to see an excellent photograph.

I don't know what to say to Hazel's comment! :O) Thanks everyone - I always have to get a pic of hay bales at this time of year, it's like pumpkins at Halloween or Santa at Christmas :O)
Laloofah: England has been selectively gilded by decree of Liz II for the Jubilee :O)))

It might be a couple weeks or so before hay bales start showing up in the fields on this side of the Atlantic.

They're all being gathered up by large tractors here at the moment!

I used to play on those when I was little and visiting my aunt's farm. Excellent fun!
