Monday night saw me playing with tea lights, a small metal table, a mirror, and my 50mm lens... (it also saw me trying to keep Pepper from jumping on said table and creating a whole new photo session, possibly involving emergency Vet treatment).
I took these using various apertures - f/1.8 gives beautiful bokeh. Processed in LR4 - I boosted the clarity and the contrast, and because the colour was very orange, I went into the separate channels, lowering the reds and upping the greens to give more golden tones.

Wow! that's all we'll say. Wow!
Thanks for your condolences. We miss Au terribly. We're trying to think about how he had a very good, long life but you know how it is.
I do... it's so sad, and so hard
:o(
Beautiful photos! I love the soft glowing light the candles gives. So cozy!
This is a mesmerizing photograph. I'm glad you didn't have to take Pepper to the vet. Blessings!
What amazing bokeh- very cool!
Thank you :O)
magical indeed!
I've been wanting to get this effect, so thank you for listing the aperture details.
Wow indeed! These are wonderful.
I absolutely love these! Guess it is time for me to go buy some tea lights and have some fun. So glad you were able to keep it a vet free session.
What great shots! It's hard to pick the one I like the best, but I think it's the bottom reflection that appeals the most. I'd be happy to hang any of them, framed, in my house.
Thank you all for your kind words :O)
simply, magical!
I love it when you decide to experiment with photos.

Truly stunning!
