This week has been, how can I put it in understated British terms, a bit of a bugger. My cat Posky has been seriously ill, work has been unspeakable (and the least said about THAT the better or I may become violent, or at least psychotic), and some people seem to have gone out of their way to be generally unpleasant. For the rest of today I plan to go out, anywhere, on my own, with my camera, and ignore everybody and everything. Cake and/or chocolate will probably be involved as well - and I am not sharing it with anyone!
So glad I got all that off my chest.
Nature...
Chrysanth in my garden,
which seems to have grown to
a giant mutant size this year.

Caroline again.
Whimsical...
These whimsical characters
are the pumpkins my sister-in-law
crocheted for me for Halloween.
Cooking...
As I was suffering from ennui
of Madame Bovary sized proportions this week,
I could not work up the enthusiasm to cook anything.
I therefore decided to broaden the interpretation of this theme
to include any food that had been cooked -
by anyone - at any point.
These are the cup cakes I bought at
Leicester and Leicestershire Animal Aid's
Body Shop Party.
Week's Best...
Due to aforesaid ennui, I
have actually taken very few photos.
Out of the pics that I
did take, I think the ones of Mrs P
and the Christmas decorations
(no we haven't put them up yet!)
are my faves.

Love, love, love the pictures. And truth be told, I had a case of ennui this week, too...and that is also why I did not get around to actually "cooking" something for the prompt, either. AND...I can't believe you made a reference to Madame Bovary....I just downloaded that book on my Kindle this week. Too funny!
Your pictures are wonderful. The vintage one is out of this world...and I love the cat with the Christmas decorations....I am so ready to put up decorations this year. :)
Thank you :o) Good luck with MB! We used to refer to her as Mad Bovril Woman when I was studying that book. The first sex and shopping novel!
I'm so sorry your cat is ill! The whimsical picture is precious and vintage is just amazing! I hope you have a better week!
Hope your day has improved and you can find something to lift your spirits. x
Sorry for your awful week...these photos are lovely. I like your week's best. Oh, and now I want cupcakes!
Well, it's Definitely been a week for ennui over here in the States but If I could take shots like these...I'd never complain again!
Gorgeous!
hughugs
ok, I am glad (not in a happy sorta way) that I am not the only one what has had 'one of THOSE' weeks. You did a fantastic job with the words and Ms. Caroline is as photogenic as always.
PS - I got very abusive with some Nutella myself and I gave my teenage son that look of death if he even came near my jar. About time he understand that look from a woman when it comes to her chocolate. just saying!
I'm hearing you Nicki!
Bummer about your crappy week, and hope the weekend is seeing a change for the better (especially where Posky is concerned!) I had a similar week of people going out of their way to be unpleasant (if "unpleasant" is even a strong enough word to describe it), but haven't had the time nor energy to tell you about our altercation with a hideous, nasty neighbor (not on our block) who I'm certain is certifiable. I was thinking her ugliness and the general unpleasantness wafting from so many others was due to the time change and huge barometric pressure change as our first winter storm rolled in, but clearly that theory can be tossed in the bin given your experience!
But enough of that, and on to your photos, which are wonderful as always, ennui or no ennui. I love the chrysanthemum photo, and adore the crocheted pumpkins, which made me lol! Those expressions are so funny ~ looks like Charlie is doing his revenge farts in their vicinity! ;-) Perfect photo for "vintage" (Caroline so looks like she stepped right out of the early 40s!), and a beautiful photo of Mrs. P. And those cupcakes! Oh, if only that were an interactive photo, anyone coming along after me would be seeing a photo of some chocolate crumbs on a white field and marveling over just how avante garde your photos had become!
Wonderful photos this week! I love whimsical. Made me smile. :)
Sending lots of purrs to Posky and you. We love the photos of knitted pumpkins and Mrs P!
Have a great week ahead!
Many thanks kind people.
Now there's a thought... avant garde style photos which are so cryptic that only Henri Le Chat Noir could appreciate their nihilistic qualities :O)
So sorry to hear that your week was ghastly...I have weeks like that too..not sharing tho. Always love your Caroline pics, so retro, your kitty cat is precious, those cupcakes look almost too good to eat. Go enjoy your day and hope the forthcoming week will be better!!
Love the vintage shot! Gorgeous eye makeup! Whimsical is cute too!
First let me say that I just recently learned what the word, Ennui meant as Coleen came home with that word on her 2nd grade spelling test!
Enjoyed your set very much.
The Cooking shot looks so delicious.
Best of the Week - I love this one.
Sorry for the rough week...
The pictures are outstanding... Mrs. P looks quite dignified!
