A Little Light Reading...
I've written before about my love of books - I can't imagine not wanting to pick up a book and lose myself in someone else's world or imagination. It has been rumoured that I actually become quite unpleasant to live with if I have nothing I want to read next (as if!).
Here are a few of my books which David balances whilst in deep meditation (which he obviously also learnt from a book) :O)

LOL! Very talented! David is like the Harlem Globetrotter of Books! And I am terribly impressed by the strength of his forefingers! I've heard that yogis can accomplish amazing feats of physical prowess while deep in meditation, and I guess this proves it. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnd, as you know, I'm completely with you on the subject of books. In fact, I am experiencing rather debilitating withdrawal symptoms since finishing one book last night and being able to go get my next one from the library tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteHe's terribly impressive isn't he? Note the Nigella Christmas Cookbook that's in that pile. David loves Nigella < http://www.fashionrat.com/nigella-lawson/> In fact I think it's the thought of her that's helping him to concentrate so well :O) (I won't tell you how long it took me to get this photo to look like this - but my eyes were aching at the end!).
ReplyDelete(Are you going to do the challenge Laurie? It's only a once a month thing and I thought this topic would be right up your alley. The picture doesn't have to be posted until the 14th, you just have to put your link up now to show you'll be taking part.
Ah yes, Pompeii awaits... enjoy! Not sure whether to re-read Middlemarch next as I can't find anything new, and I'm eagerly awaiting the release of this in August. I can't believe it's July and I haven't yet spent all my book tokens from my birthday - shameful!
Knew I meant to add something else about books! Have you read any of C J Samsome's Shardlake novels. If not add them to your reading list - excellent historical 'whodunits' set at the time of Henry VIII. The first one is Dissolution
ReplyDeleteYes, I did notice the Nigella Christmas book, but "Nigella" always makes me think of some sort of herb or seed or maybe some sort of spread along the lines of Vegemite. LOL
ReplyDeleteNo, I'll be passing on the challenge. Got enough on my plate right now and coming up, but I have visions of being settled into the new place and having scads of free time like never before. It's all a fantasy, of course, but I'm clinging to it like a life preserver! :-) I was doing nifty effects to a photo in PhotoBucket yesterday, and twice the bloody thing wouldn't save it! Just took me back to the original photo every time I hit the "Save" button! I gave up in despair and irritation. It's never happened before, and wasted time I didn't have for wasting. Anyway, I'll just sit back and enjoy your eye-aching efforts, thanks! :-)
I'm lost - you're eagerly awaiting the release of what in August?
And nope, never hear dog Samsome or his/her Shardlake novels. I'll check my library!
They've got it! (My library has Dissolution, I mean. Still can't find Nigella in my grocery or health food store. LOL I'm going to be on David's sh*t list now, aren't I?) ;-)~
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't it post my link?!? Bloody thing! It was John Connolly's Wrath of Angels! You've never heard of Nigella? The Queen of food porn? Good grief :O)
ReplyDeleteOnly through you, m'dear. If her food porn isn't vegan food porn, then I'm not surprised I haven't heard of her.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't know why it didn't post your link, except to say that I've certainly been having a time of it with the computer gremlins lately myself! Must be solar flares or something. ;-)
OK, how did David manage to do that? He's a magician? As I'm recuperating, I'm reading, reading, reading and loving every minute of it. My Dave is mowing the lawn (whoopee!) while I bask in my chair reading. Ain't life grand?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo!!! All those books...swoon!
ReplyDeleteBarbara - Enjoy the rest (and the books), you've earned it! As for David - he did very little with regards to this photo except sit there with his fingers in the air!
ReplyDeleteDanielle - Thanks - those are a tiny minority of my books :O)
oh yes!! I am a reader too..love the thought, feel. touch..everything about my books!!! a fun picture for sure!
ReplyDeleteI am your newest follower..pls follow back if you can.
Happy WW!
