I love going to Batsford Arboretum.
I love the way it changes through the seasons, from an oasis of lush greenery in spring and summer to a backdrop of vibrant red, bronze and orange when the trees take on their autumn colours. I love its meandering pathways, its tranquility, and its beautiful setting in the Cotswolds. I couldn't think of a nicer place to have a birthday picnic with two excellent friends on a hot Sunday in May.
Here are a few more images from our outing there last weekend.

These are absolutely gorgeous! You've made me fall in love with Batsford Arboretum as well, and I'm always tickled to see the photographic results of another of your visits there. I'd go there every chance I got too!
LOL about not wanting to spend much time with Cath after she loitered amongst the wild garlic, but at least vampires wouldn't have been a problem (as they so often are in these sorts of gardens, lol)
Speaking of Cath, that's a lovely photo of her in B&W!
Can I go with you guys next time?! Please oh please?
What a lovely place this is. The close-up of allium is wonderful, and I always enjoy pictures of Cath you know.
Laurie - but of course! Only you must be prepared to do some very silly things... and it wasn't the vampires that had us worried so much as those pesky zombies :O) By the way, did you see Pepper's photo in Cats on Tuesday? Thought you might like to see your favourite!
Barbara - It is a beautiful place. I have some great pics of Cath up to no good - am yet to process them and write an appropriate post :O)
Just noticed your comment - so yes you did! :O)
I wish I could have been with you ! what lovely place and so beautiful !
I'd love to invite you all! What a fun day that would have been... :O)
Looks like you had a superb birthday celebration with really good friends. Love your images, can I go next time?

"Only you must be prepared to do some very silly things..."
That's no challenge! :-)
And it'd definitely looking like a mini-bus is a good idea! Blogger Road Trip!! Whoo-hoo!
Wow , what an amazing place !
I would have loved to run around there !
As would my cats Kjelle Bus, you'd have all been up trees in a flash and we'd have to call the fire brigade to get you down!
Gorgeous photos - I just love visiting gardens!
This was like being in Japan. Fragrance came out of the monitor. delicious.
