Snow in Stratford...

Still smarting from the lack of George Clooney on Saturday night, I asked David if he'd like to go to Stratford upon Avon with me yesterday.  They had a lot more snow than we did and considering it's less than a week until Christmas the place was amazingly quiet.  We took the opportunity to have coffee in the theatre then went up to the top of the new tower, it has wonderful views made all the more stunning because of the snow.

Ice on the trees...

Two swans not swimming...

Decorations outside The Dirty Duck pub...
(when David Tennant played Hamlet he had to jump over
the back wall of the pub to get in and avoid the mob of fans!)

Berries in the snow...

Snow tree...

Looking down from the tower...

The Avon and surrounding countryside from the tower...

Inside the theatre...

I especially love the snow tree and the Avon with bridges. I remember going there in the fall several years ago. Lovely town when you can avoid getting mobbed by bus tours.

I so enjoyed the pics of Stratford (my home town). I live in Sidmouth, Devon now ~ but hope to be buying a property back in SOA next year.

Thanks all :O)
Ruth, I could never do scrapbooking, I am useless with paper, glue and the like and greatly admire people who do are good at it. I made some paper cat heads and pumpkins for my halloween twig tree and wanted to stamp on them with frustration! By the way, love the Christmas card, thanks x

Barbara, I'd LOVE to visit Stratford, but seeing your gorgeous photos is the next best thing! I actually felt dizzy when I saw the one taken from the top of the tower!
Why don't you try digiscrapping? No glue required! It's all done on the computer and your papers, alphabets and embellishments last for ever; they never get used up as you use them as often as you want.

Hi Penny, thanks for your very kind words. The viewing platform in the tower is about 32 meters from the ground, and it feels very high when you're up there. I've not heard of digiscrapping (I'm rubbish!), how do I found out more?

Thanks! Some day... In one of my favourite books, Penny Plain by O. Douglas, the famil;y goes to see As You Like It performed in Stratford. Bliss!
There are lots of digiscrapping forums and places to buy supplies. I like ScrapGirls and you can download all sorts of lovely things to make pages with for, usually, $9.99 maximum.
Here's a link to one of the forums:

And another to Scrapgirls:

See what you think!
