Cats on Tuesday - and now the good news...

After the saddest news ever last week, would you like to hear some good news?  Some really, really good news?  Ok, here it is... it looks like Charlie is in remission from diabetes!  He's no longer taking insulin and his glucose measurements on Sunday were lovely and low.  Hurrah!!!

Here he is celebrating by sitting
in the bath...

Elsewhere...
an (almost) incognito cat
sits behind a curtain...

And finally... Mrs P went to the vets on Friday for her renal and thyroid check-up.  Hopefully, we should get the results from the tests today.  The results from her behaviour are known already; she was bad... she was very, very bad, and that's all I can say without my blood pressure going up.  (Mrs P's blood pressure was also raised, although whether that was a true medical condition as opposed to the bloody-minded mood she was in, we're not sure).

The one positive aspect of our little trip together was that the nice nurse there gave me a chocolate cornflake cake that she'd made :O)

And a quick update - just heard back from the vet and Mrs P's results were all ok!  Of course they may just be saying that so that they don't have to see her again any time soon...

  1. That is wonderful news for Charlie. I am hoping my grand-kitty, Hugo has good results soon. Poor Mrs. P. It's not easy going to the dr. By the look on her face she is not quite over it yet. ;-)

  5. Fantastic news about Charlie! I'm so glad he was able to go off the insulin! And you certainly deserved some good news. Charlie in the bathtub - what a character! Not sure if he was celebrating his "clean" bill of health or if he was scoping out a future hiding place should any further talk of vet appointments come up. ;-)

As for poor Mrs. P, I think the "P" could only stand for "Pissed off!" That is QUITE the expression! Hopefully her good lab results have turned the scowl into a purring smile by now.

  6. Forgot to mention, I'll take what's behind Curtain #2, please! (American pop TV reference from the 1960s, sorry!) Who is that, anyway? Pepper is otherwise not represented here, so I'll guess it's her. Great photo!

  8. Thanks chaps!

Laurie: it is indeed the Tortie One behind the curtain - if you look at the bottom of the photo you can see her tail. And no I didn't send her to you for Christmas :O))

  9. Well done, Charlie (and Barbara, as you must have had something to do with it) Maybe one day Mrs P will realise it's all for her own good - unlikely, I know;-)

(Thank you for the link to crf:-))

  10. LOL! I never noticed her tail sticking out! Now I get the "(almost)" incognito remark. :-) I don't blame you for not parting with her, but I HAVE been very, very good this year, you know! :-)

  11. Not sure your pooches would appreciate the Pepper present, although she would certainly like the mice :O)

  12. Good news!

Charlie's thinking, "If you turn on that bathwater, there will be hell to pay..."

I get many more views on my posts than comments, so please if you drop by, stop and say hello. Otherwise I'll start getting paranoid and neurotic, and worry that nobody likes me... sniff sniff...
