  2. Oh wow! That is so dramatic, romantic and Gothic, so perfect in black and white, I can't even imagine it in color! Truly, that's the most beautiful black and white photo I think I've ever seen!

  3. The details are so much clearer in monochrome, particularly of the church. What an attractive building.

  4. This photo is a real standout. BTW, I've been concerned about you with all the rioting in London and other places in England. Hope you and Dave weren't affected by it.

  5. Barbara - thanks for the concern, we're fine. We live in a semi-rural location so didn't have any trouble here thank goodness. There were some trouble-makers joining in with the mayhem in Leicester (the nearest large city to us) but thankfully it was short-lived.

  6. Thanks for all the kind comments.

Laloofah: It was only a 'I wonder what it would look like in b&w...' moment that made me convert it! I liked the colour version - beautiful blue sky, white fluffy clouds, yellow cotswold stone church... but in the end I was drawn in by the dark side :O)

  7. Almost spooky; maybe a little Photoshop?

  8. John - yes I liked the atmosphere the b&w created, so different to the colour. For those interested all I did with this was convert it to black and white, upped the contrast a little and then clarified it (in my very old version of paintshop) :O)

  9. A fine example of one of the many beautiful churches you have in the UK. I'm always impressed by the way you can find them in even the tiniest village.

  14. MOL, your church looks like a set for Midsomer Murder!

I've got a piece in The Star, the Malaysian newspaper today that's a Living In Malaysia story like my blog. You can read it for free at http://tinyurl.com/3f3gd9z

  17. Love it. the picture flows, from the path to the soaring architecture and then the clouds.

I get many more views on my posts than comments, so please if you drop by, stop and say hello. Otherwise I'll start getting paranoid and neurotic, and worry that nobody likes me... sniff sniff...
