5/365 and Songography...

'Unwritten'...

New day, new month, new year... There's always this terrible kind of pressure in January to CREATE THE NEW YOU, or MAKE THIS YOUR BEST YEAR EVER! I'm not into new year resolutions for precisely that reason - you  end up feeling like a complete failure when you get to February and you haven't been to the gym every day, got your finances in pristine order, or you've failed in your attempt to give up chocolate.  Instead I try to remember to be very grateful for what I have now,  to enjoy every day for what it is and to take whatever opportunities come my way.  As for past mistakes, well, whatever decisions we've made in the past, we don't have to keep letting them affect us.  Every cell in our bodies has changed countless times since this time last year, none of us are the same people we were, and we have the chance to start again from day to day, minute to minute, to keep on being 'unwritten'.

Namaste...

New day, new opportunities...
Red sky in the morning may mean shepherd's warning,
but it also means make sure you have
your camera at the ready :-)

For my 365...
Out with the macro filters
and a rather blingy belt buckle.

  1. Wise words, Barbara, and beautiful photos to accompany them.

  3. I'm a firm believer in everything happens for a reason. We might not understand it, but there IS a reason. Mistakes especially. I just keep telling myself that mistakes have a purpose, they keep propelling us (well, that's MY story and I'm sticking to it). Lovely sky ya got there! There's no mistakin' THAT! Thanks for joining in on Song-ography!

  4. Two gorgeous photos. Around here we say "sailors take warning" of course I live near the ocean.
I'm with you on the non-resolution thing. Often I make changes in the middle of the year and don't announce them. They're my own that way and usually I'm more successful.

  5. I hear ya! That's why I like goals. Goals are more forgiving than resolutions in my mind. If you don't reach the goal, you can keep trying. You don't have to reinvent to keep going for the goals. But either way, no one should feel pressure that they don't want! I love your two images!

  6. Wow a sky like that in the morning, how beautiful. I usually am not up for sunrises.
Your belt macro is also pretty and I like the edit you gave it.

  7. Love your photos and think the words for the new year are so wise. Take each day as it comes and always be thankful for the simple things.

I get many more views on my posts than comments, so please if you drop by, stop and say hello. Otherwise I'll start getting paranoid and neurotic, and worry that nobody likes me... sniff sniff...
