Cats on Tuesday...

The cats have been posing nicely with some pumpkins in celebration of halloween.  Well two of the cats have been posing nicely, one of them (j'accuse Pepper!) couldn't be bothered waking up and coming downstairs.

 This is Charlie being 'encouraged' not
to walk off the set in the middle
of a shoot...

 This is Charlie agreeing to take part in
return for some turkey held above his head...

 ... and this is Charlie when the turkey
was being held above MY head.

 Mrs P keep her eye on the prize...

... and tries to get her paws
on it...

... which she of course did.

Song-ography...

Forever Young...

Mrs P (aged about 18 or so) and Charlie (aged about 13) prove that you can teach an old cat new tricks (a touch of arthritis isn't going to stop THEM lunging for a piece of turkey held strategically just above their heads by my gullible assistant/husband).

Cats on Tuesday...

Some of you may remember Ralph the interloper cat.  He's been visiting us for a couple of years now and we finally found out that he is in fact homeless.  Last week we managed to get him to the vet where he was neutered, and he then spent the night in our house - what a lovely, friendly chap.  As soon as I sat down he was on my lap curled up.  He came around again on Saturday morning, ate plenty of tuna (I even managed to get some Frontline onto the back of his neck), and curled up with me for an hour before going off on his travels again.  Unfortunately we haven't seen sight nor sound of him since - we're so worried a about him, I do hope he's ok.

Just to prevent any jealousy - here are the usual suspects...

Look Out Any Window...

A bit of artistic license taken with this as I didn't have an actual window shots... first I thought I'd go with the eyes being the windows to the soul...

... and then I thought about some more shots of Lizzie at the ruins of Grace Dieu Priory - although I'm not sure whether she's looking out of a door or a window (see last post for more lurking about in extravagant costumes).

Once Upon a Time...

... there was a beautiful nymph living peacefully in a woodland glade, waiting for her handsome prince to come to make her life complete.  However, one day she happened to catch sight of her reflection in a stream and thought; 'Hang on! What the hell was I thinking?  Why am I wasting this awesomeness hanging about waiting for some aristocratic, effete waster who's never done an honest day's work in his life?  I'm off to be my own amazing self!' Immediately deciding to take her destiny into her own hands and help the downtrodden poor, she become a fearless highwaywoman.  She is currently having the time of her life and looking pretty damn fabulous whilst doing it.

Song-ography...

Forever Autumn...
I love that song - but for autumn I really prefer poetry...

The summer-flower has run to seed,
And yellow is the woodland bough;
And every leaf of bush and weed
Is tipt with autumn's pencil now.

And I do love the varied hue,
And I do love the browning plain;
And I do love each scene to view,
That's mark'd with beauties of her reign.

I Have a New Toy...

New month - new camera... a full frame Canon 6D is now in my grubby little hands and I'm having great fun experimenting with it.  These were a few of the test shots I took yesterday.  Its ability to focus in low light has me stunned - and even at a high ISO there's little noise. Wonderful!

Out and About...

On holiday for two weeks so have been scouting out likely locations for autumn shoots (for some reason there's a pic of a cat at the end of this too)...
