It's Sunday, I'm up very early, I've fed our three cats (and Ralph who popped by for some breakfast prior to going to his own home and presumably eating some more there), so I thought I may as well trawl through this week's shots to see if I can come up with any to fit in with the scavenger hunt. Probably not the best way to do it, but hey, what the hell!
Summer...
Summer means flowers.
(And talking of summer, how can it be midsummer's day
next week and also the official start of summer?
That has never made any sense to me!).

Dance...
Yesterday the local riding stables kindly
let me go and take some pics of their dressage class.
It's the nearest I've come to seeing a horse dance.
Laughter...
Trying to get a cat and a human
to pose nicely at the same time.
Much laughter - and gnashing of teeth...
Helper...
Bees help us so much.
If you've never realised how their decline
could affect us all, and why we should
be doing our best to help them, then
take a look at the next image...

Absolutely beautiful photos again !!! Summer with sun and shadows, a horse moving smoothly and a cat who dose not want to pose ( the cat is not smiling. It like thinks that the whole photo taking is quite unnecessary :)
ReplyDeleteThat dance photo of the horse would make a wonderful cover for a pony book!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beutiful, harmonious set!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are amazing! Love the flowers - so pretty! And I just saw the produce/bees picture on facebook - amazing!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome set of pictures, Barbara! The dandelion, horse/ rider and goose with goslings are my picks this week.
ReplyDeleteLooks like your summer is off to a great start!

WOW! So many amazing photos. Love them all..
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous photos, particularly the last one.
ReplyDeleteI love watching dressage - the horses truly seem to dance, as you say.
I wish everyone could see the two photos of the effects of bees and their absence. I give a little cheer every time I see bees in our garden.
Wow Barbara, your photography just keeps getting better and better. That FIRST shot is amaaaaaazing. Would you mind sharing your lens and settings? Brilliant work this week :)
ReplyDeleteMany thanks all :O)
ReplyDeleteKathy: Settings were 1/5000 sec at f/2.5, ISO 100, lens 50mm. I had the camera on high speed continuous shooting. David was holding the dandelion and I got him to blow the seeds on a count of three. There were quite a few out-takes :O)))
Love your summer shots, especially the dandelion! Wow! I also love the water shots. They are so lovely.
ReplyDeleteI would never have thought to use a bee for "helper", but several people did so kudos to you!
Being a horse jumper myself, I love your concept of dance. Great cantering shot
ReplyDeleteAwesome set. Loved the Horse Dancing, Your Helper shot (I used a bee for that prompt too!), Water was wonderful and I just loved the shot of the cat and the woman.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous all of them.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! We have lots of bees around here....I've heard they are declining, but you sure can't tell it around these parts!
ReplyDeleteRalph- or whatever his other staff call him- has it good. A nice home somewhere else, plus extra meals from you.
ReplyDeleteTerrific shots!
