I got to participate in a photo shoot at Turwestern Aerodrome yesterday. Obviously there were a lot of planes there (don't ask me what - they were just planes, ok?), as well as a model called Charli. These are some of the shots I took.
The lovely Charli, taken with my equally lovely 50mm lens...
Charli and the Tiger Moth...
(I know this one as it had it written on it)
Even my brolly got in on the act...
... and there's Charli languidly lounging 'neath a wing...
... and wearing a rather nice vintage dress
These are all so good! I wonder what they'd look like in B&W? The model is just right, too, isn't she? Even the smile fits the period!

Thanks Penny - will be doing b&w versions of them all when I get my act together!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Love the retro vibe of the whole subject matter and set-up. I agree, I think these would be fantastic in BW...except for that last retro dress which is sooo brilliantly gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCharli is certainly lovely but my Dave would be interested in the planes. My father-in-law flew in the 1920s and even built a plane himself. He was a sort of barnstormer in the old days. Then they had children and my mother-in-law demanded that he stop flying. She had been raised without a father and she was determined her children would have both parents. Sad for him though.
ReplyDeleteBarbara - how fascinating! Charli's grandfather was a pilot on the Damnbusters raids - she was telling us about him yesterday. Apparently he was the only pilot who got all his crew back safely.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. Did David manage to take any? :0)
ReplyDeleteHe took the majority - it was his shoot. I just took a few snaps when I wasn't being catering manager/sherpa/long suffering spouse subjected to lectures about planes...
ReplyDeleteFabulous:-) Didn't Charli fancy any wing-walking? I used to rather wish I could try that.
ReplyDeleteShe's a game girl - her favourite hobby is drag-racing - so she'd probably give it a go!
