Actually, in a round about way I agree with Eddie and it is one of the reasons I LOVE to visit Europe. You know us Americans, everything has to be "newer and better"....give me "old and historic" and I'm a happy camper.
I was going to say something insulting about my husband then but will save it for another day... You'd love the building I work in Kathy, if belonged to a 19th Century novelist, we practically have to wear crinolins to get through the door...:o)
Eddie sure knows how to put it! At least the castle has a lovely pristine St Georges flag - our local castle flag is in tatters just now. Great shot down the street towards the cathedral in black and white.
I WANT TO VISIT WARWICK!!! It looks wonderful! I love Eddie Izzard, but when he said 'Europe' I thought of over on the continent and I thought, 'Hey!!!', but then I realised...
Forgot to say... Warwick is a lovely town and has the wonderful Present Days shop (http://www.presentdays.co.uk/), however the castle is now owned by Madame Tussauds... I'm saying nothing else...
I get many more views on my posts than comments, so please if you drop by, stop and say hello. Otherwise I'll start getting paranoid and neurotic, and worry that nobody likes me... sniff sniff...
LOL, love the arrogance of Eddie Izzard! Never heard of him before. Awesome though. Will try this in the pub :-)
ReplyDeleteHe's a one off is all I can say! That quote did make me laugh when I read it :O)
ReplyDeleteLOVE that first photo!
ReplyDeleteI've only seen Eddie Izzard on YouTube videos, but think he's a hoot. That funny quote is so perfect for your post!
