Scavenger Hunt Sunday...

Oh my that was a culture shock.  The first week back at work after the Christmas holidays - a week that saw me get such weird side effects from tablets my Doctor prescribed, that I decided to stop taking them, only to get equally weird withdrawal symptoms!  Whatever... it didn't stop me picking up my camera - wasn't that terribly British stiff upper lipped of me? ;O)))

The woman in black... 7/366
One Colour...
This my friends is my new evening coat.
I got it in a (what's the term that is fashionable?) 'vintage' shop.
It's black velvet - it has a hood that makes me
feel like a heroine in a gothic novel,
(or a madwoman in an attic depending on your pov).
When I twirl around - which I feel the need to do every now and again,
it swings around in an extremely satisfying manner.
Bargain.

Spinning...

Laundry...
Laundry...
A pox on housework is what I say!
Yes I put my beloved 7D in the washing machine for this shot.
Always important to take it out again before switching machine on.

Empty...
Look children, David is sad.
Look how sad he is.
Why is David sad?
Because he was greedy and drank all the coffee.
Oh dear, never mind,
Barbara doesn't give a fig as she prefers tea anyway.

And the sequel...
Look children - now David is happy!
He's still thirsty but now he doesn't care!

Sequin Garland - 4/366
One Dozen...
Ok, I admit I might be pushing it a bit with this one,
(what the heck, it's my blog),
but there are ABOUT a dozen sequins in this picture.

Soft...
It's David's cake...
How much do we think is left now hmmmm?

More of the snow leopard...
... and a Snow Leopard.
All I'm saying is it LOOKS soft and cuddly...

  1. That's a cool and or brave idea to put your camera in the washer. That first shot of D looks so like Dad.

  2. Oh, your velvet coat looks beautiful! Very 'The French Lieutenant's Woman'-ish!

And that snow-leopard looks even more soulful than David! (I love the fact that he acts as willing (?) model for your shots! :o)

Penny: David = 'will act for cake', although he nearly got cake in the face for mentioning my coat in the same breath as 'hobbits'!!!

  18. Nukke - I did tell him what you said but he didn't believe me, he probably thinks you're just after his cake (see not above) :O))
Barbara - happy coat hunting! I keep wondering why someone would get rid of such a lovely thing, was it a mistake? Are they going to try and rip it off my back if they see me in it? Hmmmm!

  23. LOL - was this photo shoot the inspiration for David saying BW reminds him of himself? :-) What a good sport and fun model he is! And I see yet another thing they have in common - a sweet tooth! I'd better not show that cake photo to BW, he'll want another cake and we've already plowed through two of those carrot ginger cakes since the 2nd!!

I am green with jealousy over your wonderful twirly vintage coat! You had me at the gothic hood, but then to find out it twirls - too much. I want one! Your twirling photo reminds me slightly of the Sufi Whirling Dervishes. :-)

I love all the photos, and really enjoyed your perspective photographed from the vantage point (remember, don't get that sucky movie, lol) of the laundry. Very clever and well executed!

  24. I just showed this post to BW (cake and all, I decided to live dangerously), and that's when I noticed the spectacular buttons on your twirly, gothic, vintage coat! Now I'm really jealous!!

And BW found David's photos very amusing. Kindred spirits! :-)

  25. Laloofah: Those buttons (and the coat as a whole) are pretty fab aren't they? I saw it in the window of the shop and had to think for a full 2 seconds before I was in the door quicker than a rat up a drainpipe! David does have a sweet tooth - he eats disgusting jelly type sweets by the bagful and can get through a whole swiss roll with a couple of cups of coffee! And he never puts on weight - I'm sure he's sold his soul to the devil...

  26. Almost forgot - I felt sick as a parrot after I'd been twirling around for a while, so don't think I'll be joining the Dervishes yet :O)

I get many more views on my posts than comments, so please if you drop by, stop and say hello. Otherwise I'll start getting paranoid and neurotic, and worry that nobody likes me... sniff sniff...
