It seems ages since I've done a Scavenger Hunt, and then the week I decide to do it my camera goes on the blink, hey ho. It's being collected by courier on Monday and taken to wherever they take sick cameras. At the moment I'm relying on my old Canon 400D which is not as forgiving as the 7D!
Portrait...
As it's Charlie it could also have been titled
'Do Not Disturb - or else'.
Nostalgia...
'String of Pearls'...
(for those that know their Glen Miller)
Full of Light...
De-focussed Christmas lights
De-focussed Christmas lights
Motion...
Same place, different view and technique.
I quite like the movement of both cars and people in this.
What was funny was the amount of photographers all trying to take these shots.
It was harder to not get another photographer
in the image than anything else (in fact you can still
see one on the right hand side!).
So glad you are back!! Oh my goodness, that first photo is just enchanting...I wonder what he is dreaming about? A great collection!

ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! So much warmth and holiday season cher in them!
ReplyDeleteWOW - those last two shots are incredible. Love those.

The first & last are my favs- great job!
ReplyDeleteGreat series.
ReplyDeleteLoved your Kitty Portrait - So sweet
The Motion and Full of Light are so festive.
The Time was very nice but my favorite
Nostalgic - I love the way the light is playing on the pearls.
Gorgeous set, all beautiful! Love you portrait, so soft and lovely, and I'm not a cat person! :-) Beautiful lights and jewelry, gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWow, Charlie's really conked! Must have put in a very full day of Evil Genius Cat activities. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love how the pearls in the background seem to be radiating their own light (and I love that Glen Miller song!)
Your Christmas lights photos are beautiful, and you clearly did a great job dodging the other holiday paparazzi. That last photo looks like it's full of special effects - is that tree really floating above the road like that? It appears that cars are driving right under it, and that the lower strands of lights might be brushing their roofs and windshields!
Oh, and I nearly forgot to add: "note how [you] deliberately de-focussed the lens to give a sense of movement and drama." LOL
Awesome shots. Love the first one and the next to last one.
ReplyDeleteCharlie looks so snugglesome. And love that pearl shot too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great set you have!
ReplyDeleteThis persecution of an innocent cat has to stop! Look at that sweet innocent wee face, put your hand on your heart, and tell me he's a vicious brute underneath it all! (You can? Oh...)
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, of course! And that watch one is so beautifully exposed! (Putting your PP course to good use?) I must have a look at Scavenger Hunt Sunday.
I was glad to read you got your camera back, fit and well, but these photos look perfect to me, unforgiving old camera or not!

Apologies for my lack of response this week - have had a cold that left me so bunged up I couldn't think and also been in a panic trying to arrange the Christmas presents etc that I should have arranged weeks ago - hey ho.
ReplyDeleteSarah: Thank you and welcome!
Laloofah: LOL! You have learned well young Skywalker!
Penny: You know very well what Charlie can be like. He's sweet, but deranged ;O) The watch shot was taken very, very quickly, isn't that always the way? Yes you should have a go at the Scavenger Hunt - great fun.
Brain still obviously not firing on all cylinders... Laloofah: The tree is actually in the middle of a roundabout in the road... no special effects involved, honest! I think it was about a 1 second exposure or thereabouts to get the light trails which give the appearance of going under the tree.
ReplyDeleteLOL - Skywalker here! I still think that tree & taillights shot looks like you employed some amazing special effects, even now that I know the truth!
ReplyDeleteAnd I just noticed something - those light designs strung across the road look suspiciously like the USAF logo! I think the USAF put those up as a subliminal recruiting device. Wouldn't put it past 'em, they're clearly a nefarious organization (after all, they let me work for them!) ;-)
