Cats on Tuesday...

Because the cats have refused to do anything interesting this week I have been forced to take a photo of Pepper with a sock.  There are two points of (slight) interest to this; the first is that Pepper proves that she is just as capable of Charlie of modeling items of knitwear, the second is that this is the first sock I have ever knitted, and what is more, it almost looks sock-like. I worked so hard on it that I actually snapped a needle.  No really, I did!  A good job they have a five year guarantee.  Pepper was very impressed with my handiwork as you can see by her expression.  She actually started washing the sock just after I took this so it had to be removed from her pretty sharpish.

Dobbie the house elf - not...

Got to Gattina's Cats on Tuesday for more kitties.

  1. Well done, you - and well done, Pepper. She thought it worth her attention if she started washing it.
(How on earth did you manage to break a knitting needle?? I have visions of you frantically knitting, sweat pouring from your brow, but still managing to keep the(stitch)tension even . . . )

  2. Hey, not bad at first try! The sock can double as kitty scarf! :)

  3. I think I hear Pepper saying, "Nice try, Mom, but you didn't make the scarf long enough." Seriously, it does look like a sock and I like the colors. BTW, I think I'm going to spring for a digital camera tomorrow and try for some pics of our 5 cats. Things are very exciting and entertaining around here at the moment. Of course the money might have to go for a cat carrier to get them all to the vet.

  6. I can't decide which is prettier, the sock or Pepper. Hmmm... Pepper! It's a lovely sock, though, in a pretty colour. But breaking a needle? Were you having a temper tantrum or something? Those cats are a bad influence on you!

  8. Jabblog & Penny: I feel I must explain further about the knitting needle in order to save myself from gaining a reputation as an angry knitter! The needles are made from California birch by a company called Brittany
http://www.brittanyneedles.com/default.html And I'm not the only one who has suffered a breakage as they offer free replacements via their website! Barbara - ooh pictures of kittens! Can't wait!

  9. Phew! Your reputation as a gentle cat-loving, photograph-taking lady is intact!
I was using bamboo knitting pins last night. They're very bendy, but warmer than steel and have a nice gentle click. The bendiness is a bit weird, though...

I get many more views on my posts than comments, so please if you drop by, stop and say hello. Otherwise I'll start getting paranoid and neurotic, and worry that nobody likes me... sniff sniff...
