Diptych...
Pepper being twice as nice.
Book...
This book is Called The Leisure Hour
and dates from 1890.
The glasses are from Specsavers
and aren't quite as old...
A Taste of Italy...
My favourite, linguine with pesto, NOMMMMMM!
There were also black olives in there (I love olives)
but they didn't last long enough for me to get a photo of them.
Reminders... I did two for this one as I couldn't
get my head around 'Fill in the Blanks'!
It's hard to go anywhere in England without seeing
reminders of the past. This is a detail from Lichfield Cathedral.
which has been a place of Christian worship for over 1300 years.
...and this is Kenilworth Castle.
First begun in the 1120s, it was here that
Henry V received the insulting 'gift' of tennis balls
from the French that sparked off Agincourt.
It also belonged to Robert Earl of Dudley, Elizabeth I's favourite,
and was later made famous in Sir Walter Scott's Kenilworth.
And yes, both places are not that far from where I live :O)
Great diptych... and I love the caption for it, too. "Pepper being twice as nice." =)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot and processing on the Book photo.
I envy you those surroundings - both for the culture and the photography. Showing them in monochrome was fitting, and it showed off both the structures and the slightly nostalgic atmosphere very well.
ReplyDeletePS I have just placed an order with Specsavers myself :-)
Thank you. Hope the glasses are ok :O)
ReplyDeleteHello Barbara, nice to discover your blog through Scavenger Hunt. We are virtually neighbours!

Lovely photos for the prompts this week. That fill in the blanks was hard.
ReplyDeletePepper's nose is the most delicate pink I think I've ever seen - very pretty puss!
ReplyDeleteLinguine - yum! My favourite of your other photos is the one of the book and the specs - it makes me want to spend the rest of the day reading.
(I've just ordered two pairs of glasses from Glasses Direct - bogof!)
