2. I love most things on toast, but my favourites would have to be mushrooms, and also tahini with banana. Sometimes I take this to work with me and make my friend Sandra jealous as she loves it too. Sometimes she brings it in to make me jealous. Such is our entertainment...
3. Ha, ha, no. This would suggest a degree of organisation of which I am just not capable :O)
4. Licquorice, aniseed and marmalade. The foods of satan.
5. I'm right handed but strangely, I eat with my fork in my left hand and my knife in my right. My old piano teacher always said she wanted my left hand - which I found frankly disturbing.
#4 - LOL - "the foods of satan." Yes, but how do you really feel about them? ;-) You and your loathing of licorice! :-) I've never liked marmalade either, but it doesn't make the "food of satan" cut for me. More a "food of satan's minions" cut. Maybe the food of some of his minor demons, like the ones who invented wrinkles or yeast infections or root canals.
P.S. #5 about your piano teacher is more than a little creepy. What did she want it FOR? I keep getting images of her grafting your left hand onto her own left wrist so she'e have twice as many hands to play left-handed piano compositions. Which is making this feel more Halloweeny than Valentiney! LOL
Jabblog - I must remember not to try and answer these questions when I've just got up! You're right - what I meant to say was, I use my fork in my right hand and my knife in my left - doh!! I'm rubbish! Laloofa - Hmmm, no I still think I feel strongly enough about the aniseed etc to reserve it only for Satan's use - I'll admit that marmalade might be the preserve of a devilish minion :O) I also forgot to mention Marmite - dear god that stuff is bad...
Laloofah - the left hand thing... wasn't there a horror film about a pianist whose hand kept coming back and crawling around? That's what it made me think of anyway!
Oh wow, you're right! I even vaguely remember seeing it a billion years ago, which is probably why my subconscious came up with that imagery: The Hands of Orlac. A popular Valentine's Day rental. LOL
I know what I'm getting you for your birthday now. Anise-flavored Marmite Marmalade. They just came out with it. I'll send a big spoon along with it so you can enjoy eating it right out of the jar while you're at The Merchant of Venice. Just don't let Patrick Stewart see you doing it, I hear he's wild about the stuff! >;-) ~~> (that's a winking devil face with a forkie tailie, in case you didn't recognize it).
I actually had Marmite once. Someone sent it to me. It kind of grew on me ("Yeah, see? Just like a yeast infection!" I can hear you chortling), but BW never did like it. And I didn't like it enough to ever buy a jar of my own once I finished the gift jar.
Hehe, we are sooo alike! I can't stand marmalade, am not fond of liquorish either and mushrooms on toast YUMMY! I'm mostly right handed but left handed for sweeping, striking matches, and also for mousing when the carpal hits.
Hey, thanks for your kind words. Au ate last night AND this morning!!! We're hoping this means he's decided to live. He's a tough kitty so if he has the will, he should recover. Thanks for the purrs. We really appreciate it.
Laloofah - you are a bad, bad person. I felt slightly nauseous reading your recipe. And that's SIR Patrick to you matey! (Good devil illustration tho'). Can't believe you finished the jar of Marmite... the stuff makes my mouth itch... Jo-Anne - Mmmm cinnammon on top of the banana on top of the tahini sounds excellent, nommmmmm! Au and Target - I think we were twins separated at birth! And hurrah for Au, so glad he's eating. Fingers and paws crossed...
I try to be an 0 :-) but end up being a >:-) ~~> anyway. At least Jo-Anne and Au & Target came along after with palate-cleansing posts for you to read!
Well, HE lets me call him Patrick. Or sometimes Pat. Or even Stewie. (Have I crossed the line into blasphemy yet? LOL)
(Sorry, I had to delete my first comment when Blogger put my devil's tail on the next line. A devil face with an amputated tail just looks like an angry smiling person, which looks insane instead of wicked!)
Goodness, I hadn't realised there were people who didn't like marmalade! And I had several mouthfuls of licorice pieces this morning! (No kidding!) Is this the end of a beautiful friendship? :( To make up for it, at the moment I'm chomping some of Johnny's home-made chocolate chip cookies, still warm. I know you'd like those!
I may have to declare this blog a licorice-free zone... do you know an evil woman in Holland in Barratt actually offered me a piece of licorice in chocolate??? What the hell are they thinking? I think our friendship can survive Penny - chocolate and cookies win the day :O) Laloofah - I've actually met Sir Patrick and would never have taken the liberty of calling him anything other than Mr Stewart (he hadn't got the title then). He signed my copy of Hamlet for me and I was reduced to being a gibbering idiot - pathetic really. I can only draw smileys - which is even more pathetic, am going to have to practice the devil thing!
You know how something rather obscure will come up in conversation and suddenly it seems to be everywhere? Since you mentioned Marmite, two vegan blogs I follow (one Korean, one Scottish) have mentioned Marmite in their posts. I won't link to them, as I don't wish to be banned from your blog. :-) But I thought that was funny! I guess if things happen in threes, that should be the end of Marmite's run for now, but we'll see!
That's way cool that you got to meet Sir Patrick! (Okay, okay, I'll be good, even though the halo in my angel smiley was looking very small and squishy in this font!) I doubt you were as gibbering or idiotic as you claim, and even if you were I don't think it's pathetic. I have little doubt that I'd be the same way if I got to meet either of my two favorite actresses, Meryl Streep and Emma Thompson. They're both so awesomely talented and seem so utterly self-assured, gracious and intelligent, I'm sure I'd act all twitterpated in their presence. :-) Meeting my favorite actor, Tom Hanks, would be no big deal, because he and BW remind me so much of each other he'd seem very familiar. (BW does a killer Forrest Gump impersonation!)
Can you do cat smileys? >^^< Or fish smileys? <º{}}}}}<< :-D
Oh man, those punctuation symbols look really weird in this font. Looks like I had access to a blackboard and chalk while stoned! Well, believe me, those do look more like a cat and a fish in a boring font like Helvetica!
LOL! I still think they look great! Skillz - you haz them :O) Ref Sir Patrick of Stewart - David had the presence of mind to say to the RSC minions he was a photographer with a local newspaper so he could stand on a chair next to him with his camera!!
And David is quite clever! He reminds me of a friend from my distant past (who, coincidentally enough, worked for a Shakespeare Festival company in Alabama!), who had a theory that if you carried a clipboard and looked and acted official with an attitude of belonging somewhere, you could gain access to anyone or anything at anytime. She used this theory with great success, once gaining access backstage to a concert with famous rock stars or some such. Imagine if one had a clipboard AND a camera! :-)
See, I could never get away with something like that with my little putzy camera. LOL
I get many more views on my posts than comments, so please if you drop by, stop and say hello. Otherwise I'll start getting paranoid and neurotic, and worry that nobody likes me... sniff sniff...
These "Meet Me on Monday" posts are fun to read!

Stopping by from Meet Me on Monday. I agree with you about licquorice and marmalade. Blech!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't everyone use their fork in their left hand and knife in their right?

ReplyDeleteAnd by the way... Marmite is yeast extract (or it might actually be a yeast infection now I come to think of it) :O)

I agree banana on toast is yum but I like mine sprinkled with a little bit of cinnamon!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
