I think quite a few girls are expected to expire! And men... I don't think 'the next Stieg Larsson' is a very good way of describing Jo Nesbo's books though... Nesbo is a much better writer. I thought Larsson's books very overrated.
What a wonderful photograph. Just gave me chills, and I found myself pulling my sweater tighter around me. Love it when I can literally "feel" a picture...and you've accomplished that.
I get many more views on my posts than comments, so please if you drop by, stop and say hello. Otherwise I'll start getting paranoid and neurotic, and worry that nobody likes me... sniff sniff...
This is a really stunning picture Barbara.
ReplyDeleteThank you :O) Mist makes for great photo opportunities (I added the light in the lamps myself as they were inconveniently turned off at the time!).
ReplyDeleteOooh pretty spooky! We're watching Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and this is just the thing!
ReplyDeletePS that "next Stig" thing on that book cover - does that mean the poor girl is expected to expire???

ReplyDeleteP.S. I love Basil Rathbone as Sherlock!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, lovely! It makes me think of Narnia!
ReplyDeleteVery atmospheric photograph. I like mist - it softens the edges and makes the most ordinary things mysterious.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Hi Ruth, yes I never thought of Narnia!
ReplyDeleteWow Barbara, I just love this. It´s really beautiful. I like the black and white, and the light from the lamps....
ReplyDeleteI love your photo - not just the mist, but the composition is spot on!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific post for the L Day! Fantastic capture and I, too, love the mist/fog and your composition is superb! Have a great week!

I can almost hear the echo of footsteps in the fog.
ReplyDeleteVery Moody looking picture, and a bit spooky looking too.

Thanks all for your kind comments - glad I managed to get the atmosphere I was after, a sort of 'phantom rasberry blower of old London town' look ;O)
ReplyDeletePerfect for this time of year! I'm looking for the goblins hiding in the shadows. :)
ReplyDeleteAs nice a piece of photographic art as I have seen for a long while. The added touch of the yellow in the lamps was just right.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Barbara! We sure were in sync for L Day!
